15 Heart Disease Warning Signs You Shouldn’t Ignore
Heart disease is the term we give to a range of illnesses that affect the muscles of our hearts. Many people make the mistake of thinking of it as just heart attacks, but in reality you can suffer gradual weakening of the heart, chest pains, or a panic attack, and they may still be classed as heart disease. One important thing to bear in mind with heart disease is that even if your illness isn’t related to heart attacks, the more problems your heart has, the more likely you are to suffer a heart attack. So if you suffer any of these symptoms, go to your doctor right away.
15: Pale, ridged nails.
If your nails used to be perfectly normal, but suddenly turn pale, you could be looking at anemia, a fungal infection, or a liver condition. If your nails grow vertical ridges you may be looking at premature ageing. If your nails grow horizontal ridges you may be looking at an auto-immune condition or you may be recovering from serious illness. But all three? That is most likely a sign of congestive heart failure. These symptoms are caused by massively restricted blood flow, which is often a very early sign of heart failure.
